Rangers endured a frustrating first half at home to Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship, going into the break trailing 2-1 despite dominating possession.
Ally McCoist's side started brightly and looked dangerous from set pieces, but fell behind against the run of play in the 22nd minute.
Daniel Carmichael opened up the Gers defence with a square pass from the left channel and Gavin Reilly provided the finish to put the visitors in front.
The home side drew level in the 27th minute following a corner. Visiting goalkeeper Zander Clark parried the ball into the path of Marius Zaliukas, and his header from 10 yards found the net.
However, it was Zaliukas who was at fault when Queen of the South took the lead for the second time, with the Lithuanian giving the ball away in his own half, allowing Reilly to play in Iain Russell to beat Steve Simonsen from close range.
It proved the last meaningful attack of the first period as the visitors took a slender lead into half time.
