Dave King, Paul Murray and John Gilligan have been voted onto the Rangers board at Friday's extraordinary general meeting.
The consortium, which is headed by King, received 85% of votes cast by shareholders, while Derek Llambias and Barry Leach were voted off the board.
King told reporters: "It's not a turning point in history of the football club, but a turning point in future to take it back to it history.
"What we want is a football club that reflects that history both on the field and off the field."
Murray will become interim chairman until King is successful in passing a fit-and-proper person test.
