Rangers manager Ally McCoist says that he knows what to expect in Sunday's Old Firm derby at Ibrox.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has said that he understands the enormity of this Sunday's Old Firm derby at Ibrox.

The 48-year-old featured in a number of derbies as both a player and assistant to Walter Smith, and he believes that his experiences will stand him in good stead for the rivals' first encounter of the season.

"I understand the enormity of the occasion, having played in so many and being an assistant in so many," McCoist said.

"I'm not sure it will feel any different because the desire to win and to do well will be absolutely massive.

"There are different ways to win games of football, but it's safe to say we'll be sending out an attacking team to go and win the game."

Rangers currently lead the SPL ahead of second place Celtic by a point.
