Scottish Championship roundup: Rangers, Hibernian both win

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action in the Scottish Championship.

Rangers remain five points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship table after a 4-0 win over bottom club Alloa Athletic.

A brace from Martyn Waghorn and a James Tavernier free kick wrapped up the result for the Gers before half time and Nicky Clark added a fourth in second-half stoppage time.

Hibernian won their seventh match in a row after beating strugglers St Mirren. Saints took the lead through Sean Kelly but Jason Cummings scored in his seventh successive match before James Keatings grabbed a hat-trick to give the Hibees a convincing win.

Falkirk came from behind against Raith Rovers to hold onto third place. Mark Stewart gave Raith the lead but Blair Alston levelled before half time. Then, John Baird scored his eighth goal of the season to win the match for the Bairns.

Livingston's winning run came to an end thanks to Denny Johnstone's early penalty for Greenock Morton and Queen of the South consigned Dumbarton to the relegation playoff place after a 1-0 win.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Greenock Morton 1-0 Livingston (1-0), Queen of the South 1-0 Dumbarton (0-0), Raith Rovers 1-2 Falkirk (1-1), Rangers 4-0 Alloa Athletic (3-0), St Mirren 1-4 Hibernian (1-3)
