Scottish Championship roundup: Five-star Rangers win again

Rangers run riot against Raith Rovers while St Mirren pick up their first win of the season in the Scottish Championship.

Rangers remain top of the pile in the Scottish Championship after putting five past Raith Rovers without reply at Ibrox.

The Gers maintained their 100% record under Mark Warburton with goals from Lee Wallace, James Tavernier, and Barrie McKay, coupled with two Martyn Waghorn penalties in the second half.

At the other end of the table, Livingston are rock bottom following their 4-2 home defeat to Greenock Morton.

Stefan McCluskey, Denny Johnstone, Bobby Barr, and Jon Scullion did the damage for the hosts after Livingston were reduced to ten men thanks to Ben Gordon's red card in the 30th minute. Jordan White and Jordyn Sheerin netted late consolations at the other end.

St Mirren picked up their first win of the season at Queen of the South, where first-half goals from Sean Kelly and Steven Thompson helped the Buddies to a 2-0 victory.

Elsewhere, Alloa Athletic climbed off the foot of the table by defeating Dumbarton 2-0 courtesy of a Graeme Holmes strike in the second period and a stoppage-time second from Edward Ferns.

Second-placed Falkirk and fifth-placed Hibernian were not in action today.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Dumbarton 0-2, Alloa (0-0), Livingston 2-4 Greenock Morton (0-1), Queen of the South 0-2 St Mirren (0-2), Rangers 5-0 Raith Rovers (2-0)
