Dean Shiels: 'Rangers will continue to play with brave attacking approach'

Dean Shiels says that Rangers will continue to play with the same attacking approach despite losing against St Johnstone on Tuesday night.

Dean Shiels has said that Rangers will continue to play with the same attacking approach despite losing against St Johnstone on Tuesday night.

The 3-1 Scottish League Cup defeat was the Gers' first in 11 games, but midfielder Shiels says that his side will continue to play in a "brave" manner.

"I think it's a brave way of playing football," he told reporters. "It's expansive. Everybody has praised how well our full-backs have done and we want them to attack.

"Obviously there are times when we do become vulnerable at the back but that's the way we want to play. We want to be brave and attack on the front foot.

"I don't think we've conceded a lot of goals. What we have been doing has been working and we're not going to change that just because of one defeat."

Rangers are currently six points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship after seven games.
