Late show helps Rangers beat Dunfermline

Rangers beat Dunfermline thanks to three late goals at Ibrox.

Rangers have extended their lead at the top of Scottish League One after three goals in the last 20 minutes helped them see off Dunfermline at Ibrox.

The hosts started well but were unable to take their chances, with Nicky Clark's powerful header flying just wide of Ryan Scully's post being the best of the first 45 minutes.

Rangers suffered a double injury blow before half time with Richard Foster and Andy Little forced off the pitch.

Despite Ally McCoist's team having plenty of chances, it took a moment of ill-discipline to help them break the deadlock.

Rangers were awarded a penalty on 69 minutes when Nicky Clark was deemed to have been held back by Kerr Young, a challenge which earned the Pars player a red card for a second bookable offence.

Lee McCulloch converted the spot kick and the league leaders were on course for three points.

Jon Daly doubled the Gers' lead with looping header from the edge of the Dunfermline box, but the visitors quickly pulled a goal back thanks to Josh Falkingham's deft chip over keeper Cammy Bell.

However, Rangers made sure of the win in stoppage time after Scully tried to catch the ball from a corner, but dropped it at the feet of Bilel Moshni who netted the hosts' third goal.

The result means the Glasgow side extend their lead to 14 point at the top of the league, while the Pars remain in the promotion hunt despite defeat.
