Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu is heading to Premier League side Stoke City for transfer talks.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has revealed that Maurice Edu is travelling south of the border for talks with Premier League side Stoke City.

McCoist yesterday confirmed that Championship outfit Ipswich Town had tabled an offer for the American international, leading to speculation that Suffolk would be his next destination.

However, the boss has now told BBC Sport that the Potters have entered the race to sign the 26-year-old.

Edu joined Rangers from Toronto in 2008.
