Eduardo Herrera leaves Rangers on loan deal

Mexican side Santos Laguna announce that they have completed the loan signing of Rangers forward Eduardo Herrera.

Rangers have allowed forward Eduardo Herrera to leave the club in order to join Santos Laguna on loan.

Last summer, Rangers handed the striker a three-year contract, but the Mexican made just two starts and 17 substitute outings in the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard has now been brought in at Ibrox and the 29-year-old did not feature in the plans of the Liverpool legend, which has led to a transfer elsewhere.

Herrera will now spend the next period of his career back in his homeland, and the attacker is no stranger to his new club.

During the 2013-14 campaign, Herrera netted six times in 31 appearances during another loan spell with Los Guerreros.
