Joaquin Larrivey is confident that Rayo Vallecano can move away from the relegation zone in La Liga.
A total of just 16 points from 21 matches has left the capital outfit in 19th position in the table, five points from safety with 17 games remaining.
However, the experienced forward believes that his teammates have "a lot of quality" and will retain their La Liga spot for another season.
"The right word amongst the squad is hope. We're all keen to get out of this situation and we're confident we can do it. We believe we can get higher up the table, we know we've made mistakes, but we have plenty of room for improvement," he told reporters at a press conference.
"Individually we have a lot of quality. We have class players and we can be higher and get out of our current situation. We have hope and faith and we can't lose that. I think we've shown what we can do in every game and we've given everything we can. It's important to keep believing, that's crucial. We have the team and the players that we can aspire for more."
"We all have hope and I don't see this as a team that gives up in difficult times. We have to keep believing, trying, playing and pressing. These are things that are in our DNA and we have to keep trying. We have to have faith and keep believing in the ideas of the manager. The aim is to win and get out of the relegation zone."
Rayo have won just five times in the league this season.
