Reading boss Nigel Adkins believes that his side has improved during the final part of the season, despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has insisted that his side has made progress during the final part of the season, despite their relegation from the Premier League.

The Royals failed to beat the drop last month having won the Championship one year earlier.

"We have already finished on a high note," Adkins is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "Over the last seven or eight weeks there's been a good progression in what we've wanted to do.

"The players are well aware of what's going to be required of them next season and there's a feel good factor about the place."

Reading conclude their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they travel to West Ham United.
