New Reading defender Chris Gunter has revealed his excitement ahead of their Premier League campaign.
The Wales international joined the Royals from Nottingham Forest on Tuesday after a weekend of talks with manager Brian McDermott.
The 22-year-old admits that he has to win over the club's fans and players but is looking forward to help trying to keep the Madejski Stadium outfit in the top division.
"Having spoken to the manager, [director of football] Nick Hammond and now the chairman, everyone has made me feel really welcome and I'm really looking forward to this opportunity," Gunter told the club's official website.
"If you form a team spirit, a togetherness, you'll always do well in football - and if you work hard you'll get your rewards. Reading have certainly done that in the last few years. Hopefully that can carry on.
"Right now, I need to focus on impressing everyone at this club and I'm really excited to get going."
Gunter has picked up 37 caps for his country.
