Brian McDermott unhappy with officials

Reading boss Brian McDermott is angry with the officials after a controversial equaliser earns Newcastle a 2-2 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has hit out at officials following his side's 2-2 draw with Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Royals were leading 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium before Demba Ba accidently used his hand to score his second goal of the game and earn the Magpies a point.

"For me, it is a big error from the referee and the linesman not to see the goal, because it was going away and then he has put his hand out to score," McDermott told Sky Sports News.

"So it is really disappointing but, having said that, I thought the performance of the team was excellent. That is the identity of our team, our club and that is what we are about."

The draw means that 19th-placed Reading are still without a Premier League win after five matches.
