Reading 'close' to Thai takeover

Championship side Reading are reportedly close to being taken over by an unknown Thai investor.

Championship side Reading are reportedly close to being taken over by a Thai investor.

The Royals have been trying to find a new owner since last year, with majority shareholder Anton Zingarevich standing down from the board earlier this month.

According to BBC South Today, a deal with the unknown investor, who would have to pass the Football League's owners and directors' test, could be concluded within seven days.

Reading will play in the Championship for a second straight season in 2014-15 after missing out on the playoffs last term.
