Reading send Dominic Samuel to Gillingham on loan

Reading send young forward Dominic Samuel down a division to Gillingham on a 28-day loan.

League One high-flyers Gillingham have signed Reading forward Dominic Samuel on a 28-day loan.

The 21-year-old featured in Reading's first Championship game of the season against Birmingham City, but a knee injury halted his progress and he has not played for the first team since August.

He now returns to League One, where he enjoyed some good form while on loan at Coventry City last season.

"We are delighted to have captured Dominic's signature. He had a massive impact at Coventry last year in this division with six goals in 13 games," Gills boss Justin Edinburgh told the club website.

Samuel has joined Gillingham until December 10, and his first opportunity to impress will be in the League One match at home to Bury tomorrow.
