Sunday's La Liga predictions including Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's La Liga fixtures, including Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Madrid.

Alaves vs. Granada (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Alaves host Granada this weekend at the Mendizorrotza knowing that three points would guarantee them La Liga survival, something that looked far from likely before Javier Calleja took the reins in early April.

A win for Granada could see the Andalusian outfit leapfrog Athletic Club into ninth place, a tidy finish for a side that has blown hot and cold this season.

We say: Alaves 2-0 Granada

With Granada's injury crisis in mind, we think Alaves will be able to muster enough desperation and guile to best the visiting Andalusians. We are going for a 2-0 win for the hosts.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Real Madrid (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Real Madrid will be looking to keep themselves firmly in the title argument when they play the penultimate match of their 2020-21 La Liga campaign away to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday evening.

Zinedine Zidane's side are currently second in the table, two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, while Athletic occupy ninth position, now four points from eighth-placed Celta Vigo.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Real Madrid

Athletic are more than capable of making this a very comfortable match for a Real Madrid side under a lot of pressure, but we just fancy Zidane's side to edge a tight contest and stay firmly in the title race as a result.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Atletico vs. Osasuna (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Atletico Madrid would win the 2020-21 La Liga title this weekend if they beat Osasuna and second-placed Real Madrid fail to overcome Athletic Bilbao.

Diego Simeone's side are currently two points clear at the top of the division, while Osasuna sit down in 11th position in the table, having picked up 44 points from 36 matches this term.

We say: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Osasuna

Atletico's win over Real Sociedad last time out was a big one, and we are finding it difficult to predict anything other than a home success here. Osasuna are a talented side and could cause problems, but Simeone's team should have enough to put a huge three points on the board.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Barcelona could see their La Liga title hopes ended this weekend, but the Catalan giants will still be desperate to pick up all three points when they welcome an in-form Celta Vigo to Camp Nou.

Ronald Koeman's side are currently third in the table, four points behind leaders Atletico Madrid with two games left, while Celta, who have won their last four matches, occupy eighth position.

We say: Barcelona 2-1 Celta Vigo

Celta's recent form must be respected, and this could be a potentially very difficult match for Barca, who showed their defensive issues against Levante. We are expecting a tight game on Sunday evening but fancy Koeman's side to return to winning ways, with Messi potentially on the scoresheet.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 3.5 goals.

Real Betis vs. Huesca (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Europa League hopefuls Real Betis host relegation candidates Huesca at the Benito Villamarin this weekend, with three points being a worthy prize by both outfits.

Manuel Pellegrini's Betis could climb as high as fifth in the table with a win on Sunday, while Huesca could potentially leapfrog relegation rivals Getafe and Alaves into 15th place with three points this weekend.

We say: Real Betis 1-2 Huesca

With the defensive record that Betis are currently boasting, Huesca will have to come out swinging to get the three points, but we think Pacheta's men have what it takes to beat the Andalusians and take that huge step towards La Liga survival.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Getafe vs. Levante (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Paco Lopez's struggling Levante side travel to the capital this weekend for their La Liga clash with relegation-threatened Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Having been dragged into the relegation fight at a late stage, Getafe could potentially find themselves in a dangerous area if they fail to pick up three points this weekend.

We say: Getafe 1-1 Levante

With both sides playing poorly at the moment, this one is particularly tough to call. We think it will be a gritty affair with a few moments of drama, but ultimately we are going for a draw here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Cadiz vs. Elche (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Fran Escriba's relegation-threatened Elche travel to Andalusia this weekend for their must-win La Liga tie against Cadiz at the Ramon de Carranza.

Three points for the visitors could see Elche leapfrog Real Valladolid into 18th place, while a win for Cadiz could see the hosts cement their mid-table credentials.

We say: Cadiz 1-1 Elche

Nothing could separate these two sides when they last met in November, and we cannot see anything being able to separate them this weekend either. We reckon Lucas Boye and Alvaro Negredo could end up on the scoresheet.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Real Sociedad vs. Real Valladolid (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Sergio's embattled Real Valladolid travel to the Basque Country this weekend for their must-win La Liga clash against Real Valladolid at the Estadio Nuevo Jose Zorrilla.

When these two sides last met, it was the first game week of the season and optimism was high, with the game eventually ending 1-1. With just two games left of the La Liga campaign, 25 points now separate the two sides, with Valladolid pursuing top-flight survival and La Real hoping to secure European football.

We say: Real Sociedad 2-1 Real Valladolid

As the tussle at the foot of the table looks set to come to a head, Valladolid look like a side who could be on the way out. We think La Real will comfortably win this fixture, with Isak picking up a goal or two.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Valencia vs. Eibar (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Eibar manager Jose Luis Mendilibar pictured in December 2020© Reuters

Jose Luis Mendilibar's galvanised Eibar side travel to the Mediterranean coast this weekend for their hugely important La Liga clash with Valencia.

The stakes have never been higher for Eibar, who will be relegated if they lose this tie and Huesca manage to draw or win their game against Real Betis.

We say: Valencia 0-1 Eibar

Okay, hear us out. Eibar's great escape sounds a bit too mental to really be taken seriously, but football is mental and sometimes ordinary players do extraordinary things. We think Eibar will win this one, thus making the last day of the season very interesting.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Villarreal vs. Sevilla (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Villarreal's Manu Trigueros celebrates scoring against Arsenal in the Europa League on April 29, 2021© Reuters

Seventh will welcome fourth in La Liga on Sunday evening as Villarreal and Sevilla prepare to lock horns at Estadio de la Ceramica.

Villarreal can finish as high as fifth this season, while Sevilla could still finish second, but Julen Lopetegui's side are no longer in the title race despite an excellent last couple of months.

We say: Villarreal 1-1 Sevilla

Villarreal are certainly a team to be respected at this level of football, and we fancy the Yellow Submarine to claim a share of the spoils here. Sevilla's momentum has been broken recently, and the corresponding match between the two sides last season ended in a draw, which leads us to predict a stalemate here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
