Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has said that Gareth Bale's commitment to Wales will benefit Real Madrid.
Lawrenson believes that the Welsh nation have a good chance of future success due to the form of Bale and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
While some clubs are wary of allowing their top stars to thrive for their respective nations, Lawrenson believes that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti will have no qualms due to the freedom he gives Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Players don't train anything like as much as with their clubs and are surrounded by support staff to ensure they are completely looked after," Lawrenson wrote in The Mirror.
"Bale is as proud about representing his country as Ronaldo is about turning out for his. Ancelotti will already know all about that and may even encourage it, as the bigger Bale's international status becomes the more of a global asset he is to Madrid."
Wales drew 1-1 with Finland on Saturday.
