Levante's David Navarro reveals that he has sent a text to apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo for cutting him open with an elbow during Sunday's defeat to Real Madrid.

Levante defender David Navarro has revealed that he has sent Cristiano Ronaldo a text message to apologise for elbowing him on Sunday.

Navarro caught the Real Madrid talisman with a stray elbow last weekend, cutting open the Portuguese forward and forcing him to leave the pitch complaining of dizzy spells.

The centre-back has since insisted that he meant no harm and admitted that he sent Ronaldo a text to say sorry.

He told Intereconomia that the text read: "I saw I really hurt you, I apologise."

Ronaldo gave Madrid the lead in Levante before being substituted in a crucial 2-1 victory for Jose Mourinho's side.
