Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has apologised to the media after he hit out at a reporter for asking him a 'bad' question.
The Portugal captain claimed that he was an "arsehole", but indicated that he has no plans to change his attitude with the press.
After Ronaldo scored his 501st goal in Madrid's 2-0 victory over Malmo on Wednesday, the Ballon d'Or winner was asked about Gerard Pique's controversial comments.
After Barcelona won the La Liga title, Pique tweeted his thanks to Kevin Roldan, who performed at Ronaldo's 30th birthday bash just hours after Madrid suffered a 4-0 defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid in February.
In response to the journalist's question, Ronaldo said: "You know why I don't speak more often? You're intelligent - you must be to have this job. It's because the questions aren't good!
"What has that got to do with today's game? Can't you talk about the good things that have happened? This is why I don't speak more. You want me to fall into the same trap as Pique."
Today, during a ceremony celebrating Ronaldo equalling club legend Raul's 323-goal record, the ex-Manchester United star said, "I know I'm an arsehole, but that's who I am," according to The Mirror.
Real will face Atletico at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.
