Real Madrid have reportedly earmarked two players as potential successors to Marcelo at the Bernabeu.
The 33-year-old's contract with the capital giants expires at the end of the season, and he is seemingly set to depart as a free agent after a trophy-laden 15 years with Los Blancos.
Marcelo's departure will open up a spot for a new left-back in Carlo Ancelotti's team, although Ferland Mendy has established himself as the club's number one in that department.
According to Marca, Real are considering a swoop for former Castilla starlet Fran Garcia, with the 22-year-old now a regular at Rayo Vallecano and starting 26 La Liga matches this season.
The report adds that Los Blancos could instead promote Miguel Gutierrez to a more senior role, as the 20-year-old has made four senior appearances this season but has largely been restricted to games at youth level.
However, Real could still sanction a temporary loan exit for Gutierrez, who has two goals and eight assists to his name from 15 matches for Real Madrid Castilla this season.
