Real Madrid's Gareth Bale named in Wales squad despite injury blow

Wales name Gareth Bale in the squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Belgium, despite a recent injury blow.

Wales have selected Real Madrid star Gareth Bale in their squad for the nation's World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Belgium.

There were questions over whether manager Chris Coleman would call on the 24-year-old due to a thigh strain, which put him out of Madrid's Champions League 4-0 win over Copenhagen last night.

While manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated that Bale will return to action after the international break, the £85m player will join Wales next week.

Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams has also been named in the squad, despite suffering from an ankle injury.

Wales squad:

Wayne Hennessey - Wolverhampton Wandererss, Glyn Myhill - West Brom, Owain Fon Williams - Tranmeres, Ben Davies - Swansea, Danny Gabbidon - Crystal Palace, Chris Gunter - Reading, Adam Matthews - Celtic, Samuel Ricketts - Wolves, Neil Taylor - Swansea, Ashley Williams - Swansea, Joe Allen - Liverpool, Jack Collison - West Ham (Loan AFC Bournemouth), Andrew Crofts - Brighton & Hove Albion (Suspended v FYR Macedonia), Declan John - Cardiff City, Andy King - Leicester, Joe Ledley - Celtic, Aaron Ramsey - Arsenal, David Vaughan - Sunderland, Gareth Bale - Real Madrid, Craig Bellamy - Cardiff City, Simon Church - Charlton, Hal Robson-Kanu - Reading, Sam Vokes - Burnley
