Video: Antoine Griezmann desperate to overcome boyhood team

Watch Real Sociedad coach Jagoba Arraste and midfield duo Antoine Griezmann and Xabi Prieto discuss the club's upcoming Champions League qualifiers against Lyon.

Real Sociedad midfielder Antoine Griezmann has admitted that he is desperate to overcome Lyon in the final qualification round of the Champions League.

The Spanish outfit, who finished fourth in La Liga last season, travel to France for the first leg of their playoff tie on Tuesday evening before welcoming Lyon to Spain next Wednesday.

"Olympique Lyonnais are the team that I used to go and watch with my father. They are my favourite team since I was a boy. In Spain, people consider them a great team because they have done well in Europe and in Ligue 1 which they have won many times," Griezmann told reporters.

Meanwhile, Sociedad midfielder Xabi Prieto and coach Jagoba Arrasate have also revealed their thoughts ahead of the European clash at the Stade de Gerland.

"Well I don't know if this match is the most important of my career. Actually I hope that the best will be waiting for me in the future. But it will, that would means that we went successfully through this tie," said Prieto.

"However, I'm really hoping to go into the Champions League amongst the best teams in Europe, and also do it as captain and after the past few years in the second division, that helps you to see the real colour of things. I'm grateful to live this great moments with team of my heart."

Arraste added: "If we do well in the second match and tomorrow, we'll become relaxed. I'm sure we going to have a surprise in store. Then we know two games are ahead, hundred eighty minutes. But we are quite sure we have play well in two games to go through. So there is no other way but to do our best tomorrow."
