Report: Fernando Llorente to join Real Sociedad on loan

Sevilla forward Fernando Llorente is close to swapping the Estadio Ramon for Real Sociedad, according to a report.

Sevilla forward Fernando Llorente is reportedly close to joining Real Sociedad on loan.

The experienced Spaniard joined Sevilla from Juventus in the summer of 2015, but only managed seven goals in 31 appearances for the Europa League winners last term.

It is understood that Sevilla are struggling to shift the 31-year-old on a permanent deal this summer due to the size of his wages, but according to Mundo Deportivo, a loan deal with Sociedad is close to being struck.

Llorente, who is contracted to his current club until the summer of 2018, scored 118 times in 333 appearances for Sociedad's Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao between 2004 and 2013.
