Sevilla capture Ganso from Sao Paulo on five-year deal

Ganso swaps Sao Paulo for Sevilla on a five-year deal to join former Santos teammate Neymar in La Liga.

Sevilla have added Ganso to their ranks after signing the midfielder from Sao Paulo for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who has never previously played outside his native Brazil, joins the Rojiblancos on a five-year deal.

Ganso has spent the past four seasons at Sao Paulo, having been signed from Santos where he came through the youth ranks alongside Barcelona star Neymar.

Sevilla had been heavily linked with a move for the Brazil international all window and, having now landed their man, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool's Joe Allen remains a target for Jorge Sampaoli.

New manager Sampaoli has already recruited Franco Vazquez, Joaquin Correa, Matias Kranevitter, Hiroshi Kiyotake and Pablo Sarabia this summer.
