Raphael Guerreiro wonder-strike helps to give Lorient comeback win over Reims

Lorient complete a 3-1 comeback victory over Reims in Ligue 1, thanks to goals from Lamine Gassama, Raphael Guerreiro and Benjamin Jeannot.

Raphael Guerreiro's wonder-strike helped to ensure that Lorient completed a 3-1 comeback victory over home side Reims in Ligue 1 this evening.

Lorient's Walid Mesloub looked to push his side in front in the 15th minute when he broke down the flank to cross for Benjamin Jeannot, who could only send his header wide of the target.

Reims missed the perfect chance to take the lead only minutes later as Diego delivered a pinpoint ball for Nicolas de Preville, who guided his shot straight at Benjamin Lecomte from point-blank range.

The home side continued to produce chances and they took one right on half time when Benjamin Moukandjo reacted well to Diego's pass to covert with his right foot.

Their lead was not to last too long, however, given that Lamine Gassama caught hold of Mesloub's pass before firing into the top left-corner to bring Lorient level at 1-1.

The game was then turned on its head in the 64th minute as Lorient moved into a 2-1 lead thanks to an unstoppable strike from Guerreiro, who sent a shot into the top-left corner from distance.

Reims sealed all three points with just a few minutes left to go via Jeannot, as the forward latched onto Guerreiro's cross to bag his side's third goal of the night and leave the final score at 3-1.
