Martin O'Neill confirms he and Roy Keane have signed Republic of Ireland deals

Martin O'Neill confirms that he and his assistant coach Roy Keane have put pen to paper on new contracts with the Republic of Ireland.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that he and his assistant coach Roy Keane have put pen to paper on new contracts.

O'Neill, who took charge of the national team in 2013, announced in June that a deal was on the table but had not been signed.

There were rumours that the 64-year-old was reluctant to commit his future to the Irish FA, but today, the former Aston Villa boss has dispelled the speculation.

O'Neill told reporters: "I have signed a new deal. It was never an issue. Roy and the backroom staff have followed suit. We're delighted."

Meanwhile, Falkirk goalkeeper Danny Rogers and Barnsley midfielder Conor Hourihane have received their first call-ups to the senior team for matches against Georgia and Moldova next month.
