Morgan De Sanctis plays down Roma exit talk

Morgan De Sanctis says that he wants to keep playing for Roma, despite losing his place in goal to Wojciech Szczesny.

Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis has claimed that he has no plans to stop playing, despite losing his place in the side this season.

The 38-year-old has only made five appearances for the Giallorossi since the start of the campaign, with Rudi Garcia preferring to start with Polish stopper Wojciech Szczesny.

"I'm fine," De Sanctis told Il Messaggero. "At the moment I don't feel like I'm outside of my job, which is a professional footballer. If these conditions continue until June, I won't even consider stopping.

"There are good goalkeepers at Roma, and that guarantees a good return. As for the role of goalkeeper, I'm thinking less about being a protagonist and more about quality and continuity of results.

"A renewal? There's no hurry, I feel like a player and Roma are my priority. If I decide to keep playing, I'll do it with Roma. I'll decide together with the club, I'm a veteran player, and I know my rights and responsibilities."

De Sanctis joined Roma in July 2013, having spent four seasons at Serie A rivals Napoli.
