Rudi Garcia: 'I wanted Michael Bradley to stay'

Roma manager Rudi Garcia says that he wanted to keep Toronto FC-bound midfielder Michael Bradley at the club.

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has said that he wanted to keep Michael Bradley at the club.

The USA international is on the verge of completing a move to MLS side Toronto FC, but Garcia admits that he was keen for the midfielder to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.

"It's a pity for Bradley because I wanted to keep him, but he wanted to play and I therefore wish him all the best of luck for the new adventure he is embarking on," he told the club's official website.

"He's done well in these six months with me. We've got competition for places for everybody now and that will only make us stronger."

Roma are currently second in the Serie A table.
