Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Monaco

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Monaco.

St Etienne vs. Metz (Sunday, 12.00pm)

It is a relegation battle in Ligue 1 on Sunday when Saint-Etienne face Metz, with both teams currently finding themselves in the bottom three, but it is only goal difference that keeps them in those slots.

The visitors are without a victory in their previous five encounters, while Pascal Dupraz shall be hoping that his team bounces back from a loss against Paris Saint-Germain.

We say: Saint-Etienne 2-1 Metz

Both teams are fighting for their survival this season, and every point is going to matter during the final stretch should they want to avoid relegation.

However, in recent times the hosts have been the stronger outfit, and they will be hoping to get back on track this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Bordeaux vs. Troyes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

A crucial Ligue 1 relegation battle will take place at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, as basement club Bordeaux lock horns with Troyes on Sunday afternoon.

Bordeaux and Troyes are two of four teams level on 22 points in the bottom four, and a win for either side this weekend would provide them with a much-needed boost in their bid for survival.

We say: Bordeaux 2-1 Troyes

A closely-fought contest between two relegation-threatened sides is set to take place on Sunday, and both teams will fancy their chances of claiming three crucial points.

Neither side can afford to lose and although there is little to separate them, Bordeaux's two performances since the appointment of Bruno Irles suggests they may do enough to edge past Troyes and claim a slender win on home soil.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Nantes vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two Ligue 1 teams experiencing contrasting spells of form will lock horns on Sunday afternoon, when Nantes welcome Montpellier HSC to the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The hosts have won each of their last six matches across all competitions on home soil, while the visitors have suffered defeat in three of their last four games on the road.

We say: Nantes 2-1 Montpellier HSC

Considering the difference in form between the two teams, Nantes can be considered the favourites to come out on top this weekend, though Montpellier cannot be underestimated and will be fired up as they attempt to turn their fortunes around.

Nantes failed to score in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but we can see them securing a narrow victory on home soil this time around.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Reims vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Seeking to climb into the Champions League qualification positions in Ligue 1, Strasbourg will take on Reims at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II on Sunday afternoon.

Les rouges et blancs will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run to three matches, while the visitors have not lost in any of their last four on the road.

We say: Reims 1-2 Strasbourg

Although Reims have frustrated Strasbourg in recent meetings, the visitors will fancy their chances of claiming maximum points against their mid-table counterparts.

Strasbourg's desire to move into the top three could help them edge past the hosts on Sunday to claim a narrow win at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Rennes vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Rennes will be looking to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive when they welcome a struggling Angers outfit to Roazhon Park for their Ligue 1 battle on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts have won each of their last four league games on home soil, scoring 13 times in the process, while the visitors have failed to win any of the last five matches in all competitions on the road, conceding a total of 11 goals.

We say: Rennes 3-0 Angers

Despite Angers' recent record against Rennes, the hosts are understandably the favourites to come away with all three points this weekend.

Genesio's men will be keen to keep their Champions League hopes alive, so a strong showing on home soil could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Lille vs. Clermont (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Lille's Sven Botman celebrates scoring their first goal on February 6, 2022© Reuters

Lille will endeavour to make it four Ligue 1 games unbeaten when they welcome Clermont to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday afternoon.

The faltering champions won the mid-table battle with Lyon 1-0 in gameweek 26, while their visitors rescued a 1-1 draw at home to fellow strugglers Bordeaux.

We say: Lille 2-0 Clermont

With David enduring a dry spell in front of goal and Lille flattering to deceive in front of their own fans in recent weeks, the stage could be set for another shock Clermont victory.

However, the visitors are fighting an uphill battle to break down this staunch Dogues backline, and we expect the champions' defensive resilience to see them through to a routine success, so long as they can discover some sort of attacking bite.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Marseille vs. Monaco (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Marseille's Dimitri Payet celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on February 27, 2022© Reuters

Marseille and Monaco will both seek a return to winning ways in Ligue 1 when the two podium hopefuls lock horns at the Orange Velodrome on Sunday evening.

Jorge Sampaoli's side could only take a point home from their meeting with Troyes last time out, while Les Monegasques were dumped out of the Coupe de France semi-finals by Nantes.

We say: Marseille 2-1 Monaco

Having had less time to recover from a disappointing midweek outing, Monaco will be battling low confidence and fitness levels ahead of a fixture in which they have not defended well in down the years.

Marseille have not set the world alight in 2022 either, but Sampaoli's side have not had to travel to Azerbaijan and back again in the past week and have plenty of attacking options on the bench ready to be called upon, so we give the edge to Les Olympiens in this battle.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
