Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Saint-Etienne vs. Lille

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 matches, including Saint-Etienne vs. Lille.

Lyon vs. Reims (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Lyon will be aiming to continue their charge up the Ligue 1 table when they welcome a struggling Reims to Groupama Stadium on Sunday lunchtime.

The hosts enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Angers in their most recent outing, whereas Reims suffered yet another defeat as they lost to Nimes by the same scoreline.

We say: Lyon 2-1 Reims

The Lyon faithful would have been somewhat disappointed to see their side only register the one goal against Angers, but a win is a win and Les Gones should keep that momentum going this weekend. Reims have been looking stronger in recent weeks and boast a solid record on unfamiliar territory, but we think the quality of Garcia's men will shine through and Lyon should march to their third win in a row on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Metz vs. Brest (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Metz host Brest in Ligue 1 on Sunday with the two sides separated by a solitary point in the table after the opening 11 matches.

Metz were held to a 1-1 draw at Nantes last weekend, with Brest thrashing Saint-Etienne 4-1.

We say: Metz 1-0 Brest

We can envisage a close encounter between two improving sides, with one of the league's best defences coming up against one of the best attacks.

Metz have a strong home record, though, with Brest struggling on the road, so we can see the hosts edging it in with another strong defensive display.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Lorient vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Montpellier HSC make the trip to Lorient on Sunday afternoon looking to record their fourth successive victory in Ligue 1.

As for the home side, they head into the contest at Stade du Moistoir sitting in the bottom three, having recorded just one point from their last four fixtures.

We say: Lorient 1-3 Montpellier HSC

Given their recent dismal run, it is difficult to make a case for Lorient getting anything from this game. While they may improve in some areas, Montpellier's extra quality should shine through when it matters most.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Lens vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lens host Angers in Ligue 1 on Sunday with the two sides separated by just two points in the table after the opening 11 games of the 2020-21 campaign.

Lens have picked up four points in the past week having drawn 1-1 in midweek against Nantes.

We say: Lens 1-1 Angers

With Angers boasting a strong away record and having had more recovery and training time than their forthcoming opponents this week, we can see them nicking a result on Sunday.

Lens are a tough nut to crack at home, however, having taken 11 points and remained unbeaten from their five home games so far this season.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Monaco vs. Nimes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Monaco manager Niko Kovac pictured in September 2020© Reuters

Monaco will be looking to build on their thrilling victory over Paris Saint-Germain when they play host to Nimes at the Stade Louis-II in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors also go into this game on the back of a much-needed win as they overcame fellow strugglers Reims 1-0 last time out.

We say: Monaco 3-0 Nimes

Nimes can afford to be positive heading into this game given their strong set of results against Monaco over the past couple of seasons, but that is unlikely to continue here. Kovac's men will feel like they can beat anyone after putting three past PSG last week, and Les Monegasques should ease to a comfortable victory on their own turf this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Nice vs. Dijon (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Nice will endeavour to bounce back from their Europa League defeat to Slavia Prague when they welcome Ligue 1 basement side Dijon to the Allianz Riviera for Sunday's top-flight showdown.

The visitors are rooted to the bottom of the table as the only side not to register a win in the 2020-21 campaign, with Dijon losing 1-0 to Lens last time out.

We say: Nice 2-0 Dijon

The recent arrival of Moussa Konate has done little to alleviate Dijon's problems in front of goal, and the visitors will certainly struggle to get on the scoresheet against a Nice side who have performed relatively well in Ligue 1. The hosts know that the visit of Les Hiboux is the perfect opportunity to gain some much-needed confidence during a demanding festive period, so we expect Vieira's men to take all three points with minimal difficulty.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

St Etienne vs. Lille (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Saint-Etienne will be desperate to end their torrid losing run when they play host to Ligue 1 high-flyers Lille at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday evening.

The hosts were put to the sword 4-1 by Brest in their last fixture, whereas Lille go into this game following a 1-1 draw with AC Milan in the Europa League.

We say: Saint-Etienne 0-2 Lille

The form book suggests that Lille will be in for an easy ride against Saint-Etienne, but Galtier's side have had very little time to rest following a hard-fought battle with Milan and cannot afford to go into Sunday's game thinking that they have already won. However, the Dogues camp still boast plenty of talented players and Puel's men are showing no signs of a revival anytime soon, so Lille should still pick up all three points with minimal difficulty here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
