Schalke 04 tear apart Hoffenheim

Schalke 04 improve after half time to thrash Hoffenheim 3-0.

A storming second-half Schalke 04 performance has given them a comfortable 3-0 win over Hoffenheim.

Jefferson Farfan had the first half-chance of the game but could not direct his ninth-minute shot on target.

Midway through the half Joselu had a great opportunity in the box but despite hitting the target he could not beat Timo Hildebrand in the Schalke goal.

Five minutes later Julian Draxler tested Heurelho Gomes but the Hoffenheim goalkeeper got well behind the shot.

In the second half, Schalke started brightly with both Michel Bastos and Marco Hoger shooting not far wide.

They were rewarded for their dominance with 20 minutes left as Marco Hoger latched on to Farfan's cutback to open the scoring.

Less than 10 minutes later the points were safe when Sead Kolasinac set up Raffael for Schalke's second.

The third goal was again set up by Farfan, this time Teemu Pukki finishing off the move.
