Owen Coyle 'open' to Scotland approach

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle admits that he is open to an approach about the vacant Scotland manager post.

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has said that he is 'open' to an approach for the vacant Scotland manager's job.

Coyle, who was sacked as Bolton boss last month, admits that he would listen to any approach from the Scottish Football Association.

"I'm always open to hearing what someone has to say. It's a great job, that's for sure," he told BBC Radio Scotland. "It's a fantastic job for whoever's lucky enough to be asked to lead Scotland.

"I've already turned down a couple of approaches down here, but I've listened to what people have had to say and, for me, the next thing has to be the right fit in terms of matching the same ambition as I have."

Coyle, 46, began his managerial career in Scotland as Falkirk co-manager in 2003 before having spells in charge of St. Johnstone, Burnley and Bolton.
