Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton has reportedly emerged as the clear favourite to take over at Championship outfit Blackpool.
The Tangerines are on the lookout for a new manager after losing Ian Holloway to Crystal Palace on Saturday and it is understood that they are keen to make an appointment before the weekend.
According to the BBC, Blackpool will attempt to agree a compensation package with Pompey before beginning official talks with Appleton.
Appleton took charge of Pompey last November, but his time at the club has been hit by financial problems and administration.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Paul Ince, Owen Coyle and Phil Brown are all in the frame.
