Scotland manager Craig Levein is happy with his side's World Cup qualifying draw.

Scotland manager Craig Levein has declared his happiness at his side's draw for World Cup qualification.

Levein's men have been drawn in Group A along with Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Wales and Macedonia.

The Scots missed being drawn with major footballing nations such as Spain, Germany, Holland and England, although Levein still believes that tough matches lay ahead.

"It could be a lot worse," said Levein. "With every draw like this there is a lot of homework to be done on our opposition and I am not going to try and make predictions at this early stage.

"However, I am confident that this squad has the talent and the collective determination to succeed but we will have to work hard.

"Belgium was probably the toughest team we could have drawn from pot three and in Serbia and Croatia we have drawn two very accomplished teams and all of these games will provide a very tough challenge for my squad."

Scotland have not qualified for the World Cup finals since 1998.
