Lazar Markovic plays down injury fears

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic reveals that his recent leg injury is not as severe as first thought.

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has played down the leg injury that he recently suffered while playing for Serbia.

The 20-year-old was forced off the pitch after only 20 minutes on Saturday during his side's 1-1 draw with Armenia.

Early reports suggested that Markovic was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but the youngster has confirmed that he is fit for his country's match against Albania tonight.

He wrote on his official Facebook page: "I'm ready for the match! Injury is not as bad as it seemed at first sight."

Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer for around £20m.
