Liverpool's Lazar Markovic: 'I need more time to adapt'

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic admits that he has not yet fully adapted to life in the Premier League.

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has admitted that he needs more time to adapt at the club following his summer move from Benfica.

The 20-year-old Serbian joined the Reds back in July for a fee of around £20m, though he has failed to light up the Premier League so far during his fledgling career in England.

While conceding that he has not quite lived up to his full potential at Anfield, Markovic is happy with life on Merseyside.

"You know how things go in football; I'm getting there and adjusting well," he told Mondo. "It will take a little more time but, all in all, I feel okay.

"I feel great there and everybody has been great with me. I could not wish for more. I'm happy and that is the most important thing."

Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign on October 19 when they travel to struggling Queens Park Rangers.
