Sevilla: 'Samir Nasri to miss next two games'

Samir Nasri will miss Sevilla's next two matches as he bids to overcome a hamstring problem, the Spanish outfit confirm.

Sevilla have revealed that on-loan attacker Samir Nasri will miss the upcoming games against Valencia and Formentera in a bid to overcome a troublesome hamstring problem.

The Frenchman picked up the injury towards the end of last month, but was rushed back for the La Liga clash with Barcelona, where he is believed to have aggravated the issue.

The 29-year-old has since missed games against Deportivo La Coruna and Juventus, and Sevilla have confirmed that Nasri will now spend one week on the sidelines as part of the recovery process.

"Samir Nasri will work on his recovery for the next week, Sevilla's medical department has decided after analysing the midfielder's evolution over the past few days," read a statement from the Spanish club.

"Nasri, who suffered a hamstring injury in the match against Sporting Gijon, sped up his recovery to participate in the game against Barcelona. This affected his complete recovery and kept him out of the games against Deportivo and Juventus.

"After reviewing his situation, the decision has been made to focus on his recovery for a week. Nasri will consequently miss the games against Valencia and Formentera."

Nasri, who joined Sevilla on loan from Manchester City last summer, has scored three times in 10 appearances for his Spanish club this season.
