Sheffield United goalkeeper George Long has been crowned npower Football League Young Player of the Month for February.

The 19-year-old conceded just three goals in six League One matches, keeping four clean sheets as the Blades stepped up their bid for an automatic promotion place.

United manager Danny Wilson said: "George has been brilliant and his temperament is unquestionable.

"He is learning more with every game he plays and goalkeeping coach Darren Ward has done an excellent job with him.

"His shot-stopping is certainly up there with the best in the country."

Long, who has been capped by England at Under-18 level, is under contract at Bramall Lane until June 2016.
