Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly on the verge of securing the services of Gavin Gunning.
The centre-back, who is out of contract at Dundee United, is believed to have held discussions with officials at Hillsborough over the last 24 hours.
Providing that the deal is finalised, Gunning will triple the wages that he earned at Tannadice Park, according to the Dundee Evening Telegraph.
The 23-year-old, who is also thought to have attracted interest from Rangers, joined United in the summer of 2011 from Blackburn Rovers.
In his place, the report added that United manager Jackie McNamara was keen to recruit Danny Wilson and Curtis Good.
