Nigel Adkins has expressed his gratitude towards former club Southampton on the day that he was appointed the new manager of Reading.
The 48-year-old signed a contract lasting until 2016 at the Madejski Stadium this morning, replacing the outgoing Brian McDermott.
Adkins, who was sacked by the Saints in January, is taking the former Championship club to court over a breach of contract.
"I need to take this opportunity to thank all the players, staff and fans at Southampton," Adkins said in a press conference.
The Liverpool-born boss spent three years at St Mary's.
