Southampton's Dusan Tadic: 'It was an important victory'

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic believes that it was vital for his side to get back to winning ways in their 3-0 victory over Norwich after their Europa League exit.

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic has praised his side's performance in their 3-0 victory over Norwich City.

The Saints took the lead on the stroke of half time as Graziano Pelle struck from close range, while Tadic added two goals in the space of three minutes after the break to fire Ronald Koeman's men to their first win of the Premier League campaign.

The Serb believes that it was vital for him and his teammates to prove a point after they were knocked out of the Europa League by FC Midtjylland during the week.

"What was important was that we show we can play well as a team," Tadic told the club's official website. "I get immediately the feeling that we were going to show a good performance.

"When we play good like a team then Graziano, me and the rest of the team can show our qualities. I think this is most important. This win is for the whole team.

"I think it was important for everyone. After Thursday we lost a little bit of confidence. We know what we can do. We need to play like this because we are a footballing team. We like to play like this because we win football matches like this."

Southampton are 10th in the Premier League after four matches this season.
