Former Southampton striker Matthew Le Tissier has taken to Twitter to offer his congratulations to Saints boss Nigel Adkins.

Southampton recorded their first league victory of the season with a 4-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, to ease some of the growing pressure on Adkins.

"So pleased for Nigel Adkins today. No-one deserved that more than him," Le Tissier tweeted.

The result moves Southampton into 17th in the Premier League table.
