Dusan Tadic: "We are happy with a point"

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic admits that his side showed character to battle to earn a point in their Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic has revealed that he and his teammates were delighted to take a point from their match against Chelsea.

The Saints took the lead through Sadio Mane at St Mary's Stadium, but the Blues equalised on the stroke of half time as Eden Hazard found the net.

Ronald Koeman's men were forced to battle throughout the second half as Chelsea increased the pressure on their goal, but they held out to earn a point.

Tadic told the club's official website: "We are happy with a point. I think in the first half we played better than them. But second half we gave them space and they took the initiative. They're a really good team. It's a good result for us.

"We scored at a good time and had good possibilities and then we got a goal against at the worst moment. We showed character and that is good. We said we needed to put our heads up and keep going and we did.

"When we lost some matches we didn't have so much luck, but now I think everything is coming back."

Southampton are fourth in the Premier League following their draw with Jose Mourinho's side.
