Report: Southampton want Valere Germain

A report claims that Southampton want to sign AS Monaco forward Valere Germain, who spent last season under new Saints boss Claude Puel at Nice.

Southampton are reportedly preparing a swoop for AS Monaco forward Valere Germain.

The 26-year-old, who has also been linked with Real Betis, spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Nice, scoring 14 goals in 38 appearances under the management of new Saints boss Claude Puel.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Puel is desperate to work with the striker once again and has asked the Southampton board to prepare an offer ahead of the new campaign.

Germain, a former France Under-21 international, made his first-team debut for Monaco in 2010 and has scored 31 times in 123 league appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
