Southampton to offer James Ward-Prowse new deal?

A report claims that James Ward-Prowse will soon receive a new contract offer from Southampton.

Southampton are reportedly prepared to offer James Ward-Prowse a new and improved contract.

The Saints have lost Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert already this summer, with Dejan Lovren and Morgan Schneiderlin both tipped to follow that trio out of the St Mary's Stadium exit door before the new season gets underway next month.

However, the club are keen to retain the services of 19-year-old Ward-Prowse, with a proposal of £30,000 a week on the table, according to The People.

The midfielder has risen through the ranks at Southampton, having joined the club as a trainee back in 2003.
