Santi Cazorla pays tribute to Vicente del Bosque

Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla insists that La Roja boss Vicente del Bosque "has the confidence of the entire squad" after securing Euro 2016 qualification.

Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla has praised Vicente del Bosque after the 64-year-old secured La Roja's spot at Euro 2016 with one game to spare.

Cazorla and Paco Alcacer both scored twice on Friday as Spain recorded a 4-0 win over Luxembourg to secure their place at next summer's tournament.

There were calls for Del Bosque to retire after Spain flopped at the 2014 World Cup, but Cazorla has said that the team have always been behind the experienced manager.

"We're all very happy with Del Bosque and he has the confidence of the entire squad. You have to credit what we've done. We've had a tough road. In a match, anyone can get the better of you," Cazorla told reporters.

"That Slovakia defeat was a tough day, but we knew we had to stick together and stay calm and that's what we've done. The failure in Brazil is forgotten now. We have to learn from our mistakes. We've got a new generation and we're thinking about the future."

Spain will face Ukraine in their final Group C qualifier on Monday, but are already certain to top the group.
