Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor will take part in the Africa Cup of Nations, according to the president of the Togolese Football Association.
The 28-year-old had been expected to snub his country due to a concern over security, but he was pictured at Heathrow on Monday boarding a plane to Ghana, according to various reports.
It is also understood that Gabriel Ameyi told an Algerian radio station: "Of course we will go to the competition with Adebayor.
"We will all be together in South Africa. It is very important to have him because he is our player and team captain."
Spurs are likely to be without the services of the forward for at least their next four matches.
