Emmanuel Adebayor: 'Tottenham Hotspur need belief to beat Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor says that the team will need confidence and belief to beat Southampton this weekend.

Emmanuel Adebayor has said that Tottenham Hotspur will need "confidence" and "belief" to secure a win against Southampton this weekend.

Spurs parted company with manager Andre Villas-Boas earlier this week before exiting the Capital One Cup in a 2-1 loss to West Ham United.

The striker told the club's official website: "Southampton are a good team, playing good football, they keep the ball well with good technical players. We just have to get out there with confidence, with belief and try to take the three points.

"We have to keep going, keep fighting, keep training hard and try to be better. We have to keep working hard, put our hearts into it and it will be better."

Tottenham sit seventh in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend's fixtures.
