Andre Villas-Boas unhappy with fans' "anxiety"

Andre Villas-Boas says that the Tottenham Hotspur fans showed too much "anxiety" in the match against Hull City.

Andre Villas-Boas has criticised the Tottenham Hotspur fans for their "anxiety" in today's 1-0 win against Hull City.

Spurs needed a late Roberto Soldado penalty to secure the victory, but while AVB praised Hull's performance, he says that his player didn't get the support they needed from the crowd.

"It was difficult to break them down. They came here with a good strategy," he told BBC Sport. "The difference today is that we were patient. I compliment the boys for what they did, it was great work-rate.

"We didn't have the support we should have done. There was much anxiety from the stands, the players had to do it alone."

The Spurs manager also confirmed that Andros Townsend was out of danger after he fell over the advertising boards and into a photographers' dugout.

He added: "Apparently Andros Townsend fell in a hole. He was unconscious, but he will be OK."

Spurs are now fourth in the Premier League.
