Antonio Conte refuses to guarantee that he will be at Tottenham Hotspur for the long-term amid fears of a possible walkout.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has refused to commit his future to the North London club.

The ex-Chelsea and Inter Milan boss remains unbeaten in the Premier League since taking over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but his side went down 3-0 to the Blues in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

Conte has not been shy in admitting that he is desperate to improve the current Spurs squad, and there are supposedly fears that the Italian could leave the club if he is not backed in the transfer window.

The 52-year-old has now refused to guarantee that he will be at the club for the long run, telling reporters: "Honestly, I like to live in the present and not to think a lot for the future.

"It's important to live in the present, to try to improve the situation, because the present is now, the future is later. And later could be too much late for us. We have to be focused on the present. Then we will see.

"I want to work, I want to improve this team and, I repeat, we have to be focused on the present because, for sure, I want to improve, we want to improve."

Conte has held transfer discussions with chairman Daniel Levy and is understood to be pushing for a January deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Adama Traore, supposedly offering four players in exchange.

The Premier League and Serie A-winning coach has won eight, drawn three and lost three of his 14 games in charge of Tottenham since his mid-season arrival.
